Every day, teachers, support staff and early years professionals help children and young people thrive. But when serious illness, bereavement, relationship breakdown, domestic abuse or financial crisis affect their own lives, many struggle to cope financially and emotionally.
The Teaching Staff Trust is the only independent grant-maker dedicated to supporting people working in education through these difficult times. Last year we distributed £600,000 in grants and supported hundreds of education professionals facing unexpected hardship. Demand continues to rise, with applications increasing by 18% year on year.
With your support, more people working in education can access emergency financial assistance, specialist advice and practical help when they need it most.

Each year we aim to ensure that people working in education can access timely support before hardship becomes crisis. Through grants, advice and signposting we work to reduce financial stress, improve wellbeing and help people regain stability. Each year we aim to:

Could help several people working in education overcome an immediate financial crisis — keeping up with essential household costs, putting food on the table during illness, or managing unexpected costs following bereavement or family breakdown.

Could directly support around 12 education professionals experiencing significant hardship, or provide enhanced support to people at risk of losing their homes or jobs — preventing housing insecurity and helping beneficiaries rebuild their lives.
