Our Impact
Since 2017 we've helped thousands of education professionals through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
When teachers, support staff and early years professionals face unexpected financial hardship, Teaching Staff Trust provides grants, practical support and connections to specialist advice services. We help people regain stability, improve wellbeing and move forward through difficult times.
We do not measure success solely by the number of grants we award. We measure success by the difference those grants make — whether that is helping someone keep their home, recover from illness, manage bereavement, escape abuse or regain financial stability.
In 2025–26 we:
Nidhi, a teacher and single parent, received support with priority debts, food and household essentials after experiencing domestic abuse. The support brought stability and enabled her to focus on her family's future.
Education professionals facing cancer treatment, stroke recovery and mental ill-health have received assistance with housing costs, bills and everyday essentials during periods when they were unable to work.
From helping beneficiaries avoid homelessness to funding funeral costs and household essentials, our grants provide practical support when people have nowhere else to turn.
"This allows me to recover and begin to get ready to return to work."
"The support I received gave me a month's breather to focus on myself and not on the bills."
"This will help to give me a fresh start and also feels like a massive weight has been lifted."
We are committed to being open and transparent about how funds are used and the difference they make.
Demand for support continues to grow, with applications increasing by 18% year on year. Our priority is to ensure that education professionals facing financial hardship can continue to access timely grants, practical support and specialist advice when they need it most.
